Daddy's thoughts after the funeral 5-31-13

Today, as we laid our Easton "The Beast" to rest with his Father in Heaven, we felt the loving arms of Our Heavenly Father around us. How very blessed we felt to have so many dear friends and family gathered around us to celebrate his life and his new journey. What a blessed family we are to have had this perfect child sent to us. We know that we will be with our"Beastie"again, but until that time... we will strive to live our lives in a way that will allow our family to be eternal. Easton had a special light in his eyes and a special smile that could light up the world. If you were blessed enough to have been touched by him we pray that his example will shine through each of you. This is his legacy. This is his mission, what he was sent here to do. Mission accomplished Beast. I love you and am thankful every minute for you. I can't wait to"hold you" again.

Our loss is Heaven's gain

On Sunday, May 26th, 2013, our family was spending the evening together at my husbands parents home when our 22 month old got out the back door without us knowing.  My in laws have a bayou and slough in their back yard, so immediately we began searching the water.  After family, neighbors, and rescue responders searched for nearly an hour, our precious Easton was pulled from the muddy water.  Despite the efforts of many trying to save him, Easton was taken home to our Heavenly Father.  I hope to use this blog for others to read and follow our family on our journey to recovering from this traumatic loss in our family.  Easton was a ray of sunshine to all those he came in contact with.  Our family is not the same without him.  He joined our family on July 14, 2011 and added so much joy and love.  He left our family temporarily on May 26, 2013 until we meet again.  He has left our family with many happy memories and a new found understanding of love and desire to live a life that will draw us closer to our Father in Heaven and Savior.  Over the next few days I hope to post many journal entries to get caught up to date as I learn to use this blogspot  I hope that our experiences and testimonies will be a help and a testimony to others that may be struggling with trials and trauma in their own lives.
